Abgerissene Marken auf einer Sendung können durchaus auf einen Postkrieg hinweisen. Oftmals wird auch ein Stempel angebracht, der in der einen oder anderen Form auf den Abriß eingeht. Meist wird dabei harmlos behauptet, die Sendung sei ohne Marke eingegangen, aber aufgrund von Markenresten ist zu sehen, dass man die Marke mutwillig "behandelt" hat.
Aber nicht jede abgerissene Marke ist zwangsläufig einem Postkriegsszenario geschuldet. Ein Abriß oder auch eher "vorsichtiges" Entfernen kann auch erfolgt sein, da man an einer Marke "interessiert" ist und diese möglicherweise einer Sammlung hinzufügen möchte. Man nimmt dann die Beschädigung der Marke in Kauf.
Torn off stamps on a mailing may well indicate a postal war. Often a postmark is also applied, which in one form or another refers to the tear-off. Usually it is harmlessly claimed
that the mailing was received without a stamp, but due to stamp remnants it can be seen that the stamp was "treated" wantonly.
But not every torn off stamp is necessarily due to a postal war scenario. A tear-off or even rather "careful" removal may also have occurred because one is "interested" in a stamp and
possibly wants to add it to a collection. One then accepts the damage of the stamp.
Ersttagsbrief von UNO New York nach Altenburg (DDR) vom 9.2.1959. Eine der Marken auf dem Brief abgerissen, in der DDR Rahmenstempel “ohne Marke in Altenburg (Bz Leipzig) / eingegangen ??. 25./2.” abgeschlagen. Bei der abgerissenen Marke könnte es sich entweder um die 5c-Marke desselben Markensatzes handeln (Mitte rechts unten), dann aber statt hochkant quer aufgeklebt. Oder eine der Marken des Satzes “Tag der Menschenrechte” von 1958 (rechts unten). Wahrscheinlich wurde die Marke auf dem Weg in der DDR (von einem Sammler ?) entfernt. Oder die Marke Menschenrechte war Stein des Anstosses in der DDR: Bisher aber unbekannt.

The torn off stamp could either be the 5c stamp of the same set (right), but then affixed crosswise instead of on edge. Or one of the stamps of the 1958 "Human Rights Day" set (far right). Probably the stamp was removed on the way in the GDR (by a collector ?). Or the stamp Human Rights was objected to in the GDR. But unknown so far.
